Yesterday, I tested positive for COVID-19 after a scary week of taking care of my sick family. I am symptomatic, and following the guidance from the CDC regarding quarantine and isolation (found here: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/your-health/quarantine-isolation.html). Despite being vaccinated and boosted, this is my second COVID-19 infection. I credit the vaccine for potentially saving my life, and mitigating the severity of my illness. The health and well-being of myself, my family, and our community takes priority right now, so I am cancelling all in-person events and travel for the next 10 days.
In the meantime, I will be working from home, organizing reproductive rights protests, connecting with voters, and hosting some town hall meetings. Feel free to reach out to help or lend a word of encouragement. I urge anyone reading this to get vaccinated or boosted today.
We live in unprecedented times. Missourians face daily threats to their health, freedom, and financial security due to failed leadership. COVID-19 has left many dead, with many more facing temporary or permanent disabilities, including negative impacts to mental health. Representatives like Blaine Luetkemeyer deliberately misled constituents about the severity of COVID-19, and they refuse to take responsibility for a crisis that they made worse. Shamefully blocking access to healthcare, Missouri politicians continue to threaten the health and well-being of working families in exchange for large corporate donations.
Selling out families for cash seems like a good reason to vote them all out. Let's show up to start this process during the primary on August 2nd, and let's finish the job on November 8th.
Let's continue to persist together and usher in a new guard of common sense leaders with bravery and heart instead of spineless greed.
Thank you all for your support and encouragement.
In Solidarity,
Bethany Mann
